Last weekend my family and I got to spend the day at one of our favorite "pumpkin patches", as we call them! And if you have been to Great Country Farms, you know that it is way more than just a pumpkin patch! They offer so much more, and they actually call their October season at Great Country Farms Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival. You can definitely spend a day at Great Country Farms if you wanted to, there is so much to do! If you haven't been to Great Country Farms, then check out this blog and then take your kids! I think that they will love it as much as my kiddos do! And if you have been there before, then I hope that you get a chance to go back again!
Great Country Farms is located in Bluemont, VA, which is only about a half hour drive from Winchester. This farm is a Pick Your Own and Farm Market, with each season offering something different! They offer a wagon ride out to the fields to pick your own produce, and you can take that wagon ride currently to pick your own pumpkin out of the pumpkin patch, which is always lots of fun! We had perfect weather for our family day, it was sunny and in the 70's, and spent several hours there doing the many activities and trying their tasty food and apple cider! We couldn't have asked for a better day!

My boys first wanted to jump on the giant pumpkin jumping pillow, which is always a favorite of theirs to do. The pumpkin jumping pillow is like a huge trampoline, but shaped like a mound. After jumping their little hearts away, that they found the Ninja Course and practiced their farm ninja skills! I loved watching my kids go through this obstacle course. My nine year old worked his way though the course by himself, but my four year old needed assistance with some of the obstacles. This course definitely was one of my kids favorite activities this time and seemed to be a favorite among other kids that were at Great Country Farms as well!
The pig races are always a favorite of all of ours to see, and this time around, my oldest son won a pig snout for making the best pig noise in our section of people! Proud mama moment right there lol! We then headed over to the corn maze, which was a fun adventure trying to figure the maze out! The boys were fascinated by the apple cannons, loved the slides, cow train, and seeing all of the farm animals. If you have a dinosaur lover, then make sure to check out the P-Rex Dino show, too!

Near the end of our time at Great Country Farms, we made our way over near the Roosteraunt, where they had a fire pit and a table with marshmallows and wooden skewers. So we relaxed there for awhile, listening to the live music and roasted marshmallows. The Roosteraunt has all sorts of goodies, and Oh, and their cider donuts ..... they are amazing.... in fact they are so amazing, i wasn't even able to get a picture of them to show you just how yummy they looked! We bought them on our way out, and when we got to the car, between my husband, my two boys and I, we gobbled them all up..... while in the parking lot! We all agreed that those were the best cider donuts we have ever had! They make them fresh every day there in October!
